TYPES OF HEARING LOSS :

Sensorineural Hearing Loss

This is generally permanent and accounts for approximately 95% of all hearing losses. It cannot be cured but can be successfully managed with the use of hearing instruments.Sensorineural hearing loss is hearing problems arising out of inner ear or auditory nerve disorders.

Conductive Hearing Loss

Hearing loss due to problems in outer or middle ear is termed as conductive hearing loss. Conductive Hearing Loss occurs when sound is not being transmitted properly to the inner ear due to a "mechanical“ problem. It is often the result of damage or blockage in the outer or middle ear. In most cases, conductive hearing problems can be corrected medically.

Mixed Hearing Loss

A combination of conductive and sensorineural hearing loss (problems in both outer/middle and inner ear) is termed as mixed hearing loss. Hearing aids or other hearing devices can help in hearing restoration for most of the patients suffering from this type of hearing loss.
