In-the-ear (ITE) hearing aids are small like an eartip and sit in the outer portion of the ear canal. Depending on the size of the ear canal, the ITE hearing aid is relatively discreet. When you are fitted for an ITE hearing aid, the shell of the hearing aid is custom-made to fit the shape of your ear.

RECEIVER IN THE CANAL (RIC)
RICs are a type of open-fit hearing aid that use a thin plastic “micro” tube that extends from the body of the hearing aid (housed behind the ear) over the outer ear and into the ear canal. A small, soft tip sits inside the ear canal without sealing it.
